Vancouver Island's highest peak, seen here as a familiar sight from Mt Washington in winter time. The standard climbing route takes the open snowfield and gully on the very left (south east) aspect of the mountain. |
Approach:
Two main approaches; via Phillips Ridge from Boliden-Westmin, Myra Falls mine site from the south and via the Elk River trail & Mt DeVoe from Highway 28. A traverse from Elk River to Westmin is an awesome immersion into Starthcona Park
